Age-Old Cities

“Age-old Cities“ – “مدن دمرها الإرهاب”

Several historical sites in the Arab world were severely damaged by terrorism. It’s a threat to cultural heritage worldwide.

This temporary exhibition will take you on a virtual journey through historical sites that have been destroyed by terrorism.

It features a number of screens showing how historical sites in Iraq, Syria and Libya looked like before terrorism and how they look like now, with a short description about the history of each site and an augmented reality experience.

Cultural heritage is part of our history and identity, our bond to the past, present and future. Any act of destruction of such sites is a threat to cultures.

The exhibition is organized by the ministry of Culture in a cooperation with the Institut du monde arabe (IMA).
