Al Bat’ha Market or “Souq Al Bat‘ha” – “سوق البطحاء”
There are opportunities for people from all over the world in a metropole city like Riyadh. The city has many areas where you can get a feeling of its cultural diversity and Bat‘ha market is one of them.
Al Bat’ha is an old commercial district that later became a cosmopolitian part of the city with a very busy market.
The market is a South Asian, Filipino & Yemeni dominant and in some areas each of one these groups has it’s own street to find local goods and shops.
You can find everything you can think of, clothes, accessories, vegetables, fruits, spices, butcher’s shops, home goods, gold and some really awesome street food!
It’s a vibrant market that bridges different cultures, an authentic global village within Riyadh.
If you’re looking for the busiest time to visit the market then it‘s definitely Fridays evening. Unfortunately, it‘s not the cleanest area you‘d see in Riyadh.
