Date is the national fruit of Saudi Arabia and a very important part of the Saudi culture.
In many cities in Saudi Arabia there are permanent dates markets and some seasonal dates Markets/festivals, where people can buy fresh dates directly from the farmers.
In Riyadh, “Al Rabwah market” is one of the main dates markets and every year, a seasonal dates market is held there. It’s where many locals would get their supply of dates for their own consume or as gifts for relatives, friends and neighbors.
The first thing visitor would notice when entering the market is the great smell of the fresh sweet dates. The market offers many types of dates brought from all over the kingdom. The most popular types are “Sukkari” & “khlaas”. You can find a plenty of them there.

⏱Time: The official seasonal dates market didn’t start yet but since the harvesting season already began you’ll find people selling dates on the street near the main seasonal market. They’re usually there from dawn until around 7:00 p.m. in the evening.
The fruits and dates market nearby is also open all year long from sunrise until 10:00 p.m.
