”Farmer‘s Day“ – ”يوم المزارع”
Saturday is the farmer‘s day at souq ash’shamal (North of Riyadh fruit and vegetables market), which is one of the major fresh produce markets in Riyadh.
Every Saturday morning, farmers from different towns and villages in Riyadh region attend the market. They interact directly with conumers and offer a comprehensive range and sustained quality of goods.
The farmers day started over a decade ago and became a source for many locals for their major weekly shop.
There will usually be an array of vegetables and fruits sellers, dates products stalls, organic produce stalls, dairy products stalls, eggs, plus a couple of food and bakery stalls.
A special section at Souq ash’shamal was built exclusively for the Saturday farmers market with a nicely designed wide, high ceiling aisle and most importantly, it has a ventilation system.
⏱when: Every Saturday, starting early in the morning after Al Fajr prayer until sunset. (You can use google to check the exact Prayer times.).
Farmers slowly start to leave the market at noon, some stalls would sell imported fruites and they all only accept chash.
❗️: Quality is usually better early in the morning.
